Warm Caramel Apple Cider
A slow cooker of warm cider with caramel and cinnamon. Five minutes to start, and it keeps itself hot all night. The bourbon is optional.

It’s mahjong night, ladies, so let’s make warm caramel apple cider. It goes in the slow cooker and keeps itself hot all night, so you can sit down and play.
You’ll need
Serves 10 to 12. About 5 minutes, plus 2 to 3 hours on low.
- ½ gallon apple cider
- 1 cup caramel sauce, plus more to drizzle
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 apple, sliced
- Whipped cream
- Bourbon, optional (about 1 oz per mug)
Make it

Pour the cider into the slow cooker and whisk in the caramel.

Add the cinnamon sticks and apple slices. Warm on low for 2 to 3 hours, then turn it to warm.

Ladle it into mugs and add bourbon if you like.

Top with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel.
Lady M’s tips
- Add the bourbon to each mug, not the pot, so everyone can choose.
- It looks prettiest in clear glass mugs.
- No slow cooker? Warm it gently in a big pot on the stove.
On my table
Put the slow cooker on a side table with the mugs and a ladle.
That’s it, and you’re ready for game night. Bird Bam Cheers! ...and happy mahj-ing!
