Welcome to Lady Mahjong, a place for original designs, unexpected pairings, and ideas for making mahjong night even more colorful and fun. If that’s even possible.
Lady Mahjong was born from an artist’s eye, a player’s wish list, and a DIYer’s “I could make that.”
Our first mats are here, and the worktable is already full of what’s next, including ideas for making play a little more functional in addition to fashionable. In-house tile and rack production is coming soon, all from our little Florida art studio, and we highly prioritize collaborations and sourcing for printing and materials based in the USA.
We like to think of ourselves as a tablescape design studio, and we look forward to sharing the fun of putting together lovely tables, including how to mix patterns and pair colors. Add snacks worth gathering for, a few hostess touches, and some catchy jingles, and you’ll get a feel for what’s coming.
Behind it all: artist Nicole, who first learned mahjong in 2005 as an American expat in Moscow, and whose past lives include decorative painter, restaurant owner and wedding cake designer. Add her love of art, design and travel, and you’ll see where the inspiration comes from.
We love the game. We love making things. And we love having people around the table.
Creating things that make others ask, “Where’d you get that?”
Have fun. Play mahjong.
