It’s mahjong night, ladies, so let’s make mini pecan pie bites for Friendsgiving. All the pie, and no forks.

You’ll need

Makes 30. About 10 minutes, plus 15 to 20 minutes to bake.

  • 2 boxes (15 each) frozen mini phyllo shells
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • A pinch of salt

Make it

Heat the oven to 350°F. Whisk the sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla and salt, then stir in the pecans.

  2. Illustration: a small spoon filling mini phyllo shells with pecan filling

Set the shells on a baking sheet and spoon in the filling.

  3. Illustration: a tray of filled mini pecan pie bites going into the oven

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until set.

    Let them cool before serving.

Lady M’s tips

  • A small spoon keeps the shells from overflowing.
  • Make them a day ahead and keep them in an airtight container.
  • Don’t love pecans? Chopped walnuts work too.

On my table

Stack them on a tiered stand next to the mat so everyone can reach them.

That’s it, and you’re ready for game night. Bird Bam Cheers! ...and happy mahj-ing!
